Eliminate unwanted Spam messages from your email

If you have an email address, you probably have spam. If you have a web site with an email address listed on it, you most certainly have spam. Spam, or Unsolicited Commercial Email has become a problem of near epidemic proportions in the past few years and is estimated to cost businesses nearly $2,000 per employee, per year, in lost productivity. Research has shown that most people spend an average of 15 to 20 minutes sifting through an average of 28 to 35 unsolicited emails per day in 2004! That's a drastic increase from the average of 7 minutes per day in 2003.

Spam Assassin kills unwanted junk mailNow there's a way to fight back. The ScagDealer.com Gen II servers are now equipped with the award winning anti-spam program called Spam Assassin. Spam Assassin hunts down and kills unwanted spam in it's tracks with an intelligent database and over 150 different spam tests, saving you time, money, resources, and frustration. Every mail box on your new Gen II account comes standard with a conservative level of default protection designed to reduce spam mail 50-70% while maintaining an extremely small chance of catching false-positives.

Premium Dealers, those that choose either the Wildcat Package or the Turf Tiger Package can reduce spam even more, up to 98% protection and get even more filtering options with a fully customizable protection scheme maintained through a very easy to use web interface. Premium Dealers can add to their own blacklist (list of email addresses known to send spam, and therefore blocked no matter what), whitelist (email addresses known to be real people that get to bypass the spam tests), and can set their own Spam Sensitivity to make Spam Assassin either more aggressive or more conservative. All settings can be made to effect the entire domain, or individual mailboxes. Premium Dealer's can also decide on a domain basis or mailbox basis whether to keep "flagging" detected spam which is the default behavior, or they can decide to delete them at the server level so they never even to get downloaded to your mail client, you never have even have to see them. Say goodbye to junk mail forever! Finally!

By default the Spam Assassin settings on all Gen II email boxes are set to a conservative level of protection (sensitivity score of 10) and are set to "flag and pass" detected spam. Flag and pass means that if Spam Assassin detects a message as spam, it adds the flag *****SPAM***** to the subject of the email, gives you a brief summary of the message and why it flagged it as spam, then attaches the original email so that you still have access to it, should it be a real email that was mistakenly flagged.

Since the subject line is modified with the spam flag, you can set up a "rule" in your email client to take all those messages flagged and filter them to a separate folder so they can be quickly scanned by you for possible false positives before deleting them, without clogging up your regular email folder.
